Online Couples Therapy
My name is Beverley Simpkins and I’m a fully qualified relationship therapist. I am ‘Integrative counsellor’ which means I don’t believe in a ‘one size fits all’ approach. Therefore, I draw upon different theoretical approaches and tailor the sessions to suit your particular situation.
My training is accredited by the NCS (National Counselling Society) and I’m registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).
Alongside working in private practice over the past nine years I have also gained experience working with the charity ‘Mind’.
How I can help
My approach to online couples therapy is ‘solutions focused’. This means, together we will explore what needs to change/improve to enable you to move forward and achieve your relationship goals.
We will also take some time to look at the past. This is to help you understand, from both perspectives, what hasn’t been working and why. The importantly explore the roles each of you have played in that. I will work with you to understand the challenges faced and assist you in developing clearer communication with each other.
Online couples therapy, focuses on the relationship, not the individuals and my approach will be unbiased and non-judgemental. Therefore, allowing you both the opportunity to be open and honest.
The feedback I receive from the couples I have seen is that I am down to earth, making them feel at ease straight away. I appreciate relationship counselling might feel quite daunting at first, so I will do everything I can to help you feel relaxed.
I work diversely and have vast experience working with mixed cultures, same gender relationships, families and friendships. With the right support all relationships issues can be resolved, if that is what both parties want.
Ethical Standards
I subscribe to and work within the NCS code of ethics and the BACP ethical framework. In addition, I undertake regular professional development and supervision.
Alongside holding professional indemnity insurance.
