How online marriage counselling can help
Integrative means I’m trained in different theoretical approaches so I can tailor the therapy to the style which suits you best.
During our couple counselling sessions I work mainly in a ‘solution focused’ way. This means we will focus on what we can change to improve your relationship going forward. We will of course look back at the past because it’s is important to gain an understanding of what has caused issues in your relationship. This will be from both your perspectives so both feel heard and understood. We can then focus on what you both require from each other going forward to achieve your relationships goals.
I will remain unbiased and non-judgmental and allow you both the opportunity to talk openly and honestly with each other, in a way you may not have done for some time.
I believe that to get the most out of marriage counselling, it is important to find a therapist that is right for you. For it to be successful, you will need someone you can connect with and feel comfortable and secure opening up to. The feedback I get is that couples is that are comfortable talking to me and they find it easy to be open and talk honestly about how they really feel. This helps people to feel understood and gets you both communicating more effectively.
I work diversely with vast experience working with mixed cultures, same gender relationships, families and friendships.
Ethical Standards
I subscribe to and work within BACP code of ethics and ethical framework. I also undertake regular professional development and supervision as well as having professional indemnity insurance.
