    About Daniel

Hello, my name is Daniel. I believe that therapy should be a space where you feel truly heard, understood, and accepted. Relationship counselling offers a safe, supportive environment for you both to explore the root of your difficulties. It gives each of you the opportunity to speak openly and be listened to without judgement.

My approach is focused on the relationship as a whole. For some, therapy can be life-changing, providing a complete shift in how you relate to one another. For others, it simply helps resolve issues before they grow into something more significant, ensuring your partnership remains resilient.

In our sessions, I use a person-centred framework combined with specialist relational training. Whether you are facing conflict, intimacy issues, or a general sense of disconnection, we will work together to create a path forward that honours both of your experiences and needs.

    Background & Experience

I hold a BA (Hons) degree from the Metanoia Institute and completed my specialist couple therapy training with Relate over 10 years ago. My journey into this profession was born out of personal experience; back in 2001, I faced the loss of my business, my home, and eventually my marriage. During that painful time, I worked with a therapist who truly understood life struggles, and that experience stayed with me.

It was this period of transformation that led me to retrain as a therapist. I now bring that lived understanding and professional perspective to all the people I work with, specialising in marriage counselling, LGBTQ+ relationship support, and intimacy issues. My background enables me to empathise deeply with the challenges of starting over and the complexities of modern partnership.

    How I can help

I'll guide you both to shift from individual perspectives towards a shared responsibility, helping you recognise the profound impact of your actions on your partner.

I will work with compassion to effectively address any unhelpful behaviours like withdrawal or criticism, working to break destructive cycles and collaboratively rebuild trust and intimacy.

I'll equip you with practical, evidence-based skills for deeper connection, including active listening, respectful boundary setting, and authentic expression of your needs and feelings.

We'll explore the often-unseen influence of past experiences, including family-of-origin patterns, to understand how these dynamics may be unconsciously shaping your current relationship.

I'll help you unpack how societal expectations and personal conditioning might be creating imbalances or hindering genuine emotional expression within your unique partnership.
