    About Maria

Hello, my name is Maria and I offer a warm and non-judgemental approach to online couples therapy, working with you both as individuals and as a partnership. I believe that because every person is unique, your sessions should be specifically tailored to your needs. Together, we will look at your communication styles and explore how certain patterns of relating might be impacting the health of your relationship.

The space I provide during therapy is a dedicated environment for you to explore what is truly important to you. I will encourage you both to be open about your feelings, giving your partner the opportunity to really listen and gain a deeper understanding of your perspective. My way of working is always approachable, respectful, and honest.

Our ultimate goal is to work together to find a positive way forward and create a stronger, more satisfying bond. I focus on helping you develop a more resilient relationship, equipping you with the tools to manage the natural ups and downs that life brings with greater confidence and mutual support.

    Background & Experience

My journey into therapy began in the social care and health sectors; I previously served as a Foster Carer, supporting both parents and children, and worked within the NHS supporting individuals in crisis. These rewarding experiences led me to pursue professional training as a therapist and relationship specialist.

Following my initial qualification, I spent many years in private practice working with individuals, as well as supporting children and young people in educational settings. I later undertook further studies in psychotherapy to gain a deeper understanding of how our childhood experiences shape the adults we become and how these early influences manifest in our adult relationships.

To further specialise, I became a qualified couples counsellor and have since worked with hundreds of couples. This extensive experience allows me to draw from various theoretical approaches, including Psychodynamic, Person-Centred, and Emotionally Focused Therapy, to find the best way to support each unique partnership.
