    About Deborah

Hello, I’m Deborah, a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist.

I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you and your partner can speak openly, feel heard and begin to understand what may be happening within your relationship. I appreciate that talking about intimate or difficult relationship issues with a professional can feel daunting, so I work at a pace that feels comfortable for you both, creating a space where you can explore your concerns openly and without fear of judgement.

As an Integrative Counsellor, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches and tailor our work to your individual circumstances and the needs of your relationship. Whether you are experiencing ongoing conflict, struggling with communication, feeling emotionally disconnected, seeking positive change, or dealing with the impact of complex family dynamics, I can help you explore what lies beneath these difficulties and identify ways forward.

I work with people from all backgrounds and recognise that relationships are influenced by our individual experiences, values and identities. This includes the impact of social, cultural and religious backgrounds, as well as working with LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse individuals. I also have experience working with couples where one or both partners have ADHD or are autistic, whether formally diagnosed or self-identified. This can include exploring how neurodiversity may influence communication, emotional needs, expectations and the practical challenges of everyday life together.

Our work will focus on understanding your relationship as well as the experiences of each individual within it. We may explore how your upbringing, childhood experiences, previous relationships and established ways of communicating have shaped the patterns you find yourselves in today. By developing a greater understanding of these patterns, we can begin to identify what is keeping difficulties in place and work towards healthier, more constructive ways of relating to one another.

My aim is not to take sides or tell you what your relationship should look like, but to provide a supportive and balanced space in which you can both be heard, understood and able to explore meaningful change.

    Background & Experience

I am a registered member of the BACP and hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Couples Therapy and Counselling, alongside a CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. My professional journey began in the legal sector as a management consultant, a background that provides me with a unique perspective on the pressures of professional life and its impact on personal relationships.

In addition to my private practice, I have extensive experience supporting clients through various charities, dealing with sensitive issues such as bereavement, domestic violence, and substance misuse. I continue to be involved in charity work as I believe quality therapy should be accessible to everyone. To ensure I provide the most effective and up-to-date support, I regularly attend specialist workshops and training to further my expertise in relationship dynamics and trauma.

    How I can help

I will guide you both to communicate more openly and constructively, so you can navigate disagreements without escalation or blame.

We will delve into understanding your individual needs and attachment styles, building a stronger foundation for deeper connection and intimacy.

I will help you identify and shift unhelpful patterns, enabling you to respond to each other with greater empathy and understanding.

We will explore effective strategies, drawing from established relationship methods like Emotionally Focused Therapy, to foster lasting positive changes and renewed emotional closeness.

I will provide a safe and supportive space where you can address sensitive issues, fostering mutual respect and rebuilding trust.

We will work together to cultivate resilience and implement practical tools that nurture a more fulfilling and enduring partnership.
