Hello, my name is Valerie and I’m fully qualified and experienced Couples Counsellor. I have a ‘Specialist Diploma in Relationship Counselling’ and I’m accredited by the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). I am passionate about helping couples build stronger, healthier and sustainable relationships. Therefore, I’m committed to providing highly effective couple therapy and dedicated to continually developing in my role. My approach to online couples’ therapy, is open-minded, practical and step-by-step. I will ask you both what you would like to achieve out of the therapy; whether you would like to make your relationship work better, or whether you would like help to separate more amicably.  Perhaps you are not sure of the outcome you would like right now, that’s okay, we will work together to help you find clarity. Whatever your goal, I will tailor the sessions for your unique situation Together we will work to identify any unhelpful patterns of behaviour communication that might have built up over time. You will both be given the opportunity to talk about how you feel, what is not working for you and alongside listening to try to understand each other’s point of view. We will work together to build a stronger and happier connection between you. Learning to express our feelings in a healthy way to connect with each other more deeply, finding better ways to communicate and feel happier together. Please rest assured, that I will not judge, make choices for you or attribute blame to either of one of you. It will be a safe, confidential space for meaningful discussions and exploration. Hopefully, this will enable you both to move forward more positively in whichever way you choose.
